Note the decision by the Council on the revision of the Australian Qualifications Framework and in particular, the Ministers agreed to implement all of the Australian Qualifications Framework Council’s proposals for strengthening the Australian Qualifications Framework, subject to some important amendments:
· the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education will be located in the framework but not tied to a specific level
· the descriptor for Certificate III will be amended to include a requirement for the supervision of staff.
This marks a significant response from the Council on the framework and can be considered a positive response to industries’ concerns on the AQF.
