Bega Valley Shire Council is taking up the call of a Statewide taskforce to try to improve the safety of council enforcement officers by increasing public understanding of their role.
The Local Government Rangers and Parking Patrol Officers Taskforce on Safety was established following the release of the United Services Union’s 2009 "Moving on for Safety" report which highlighted the incidence of violence and aggression against council enforcement officers by members of the public.
