It has also been reported in today’s media that over 66,000 homes and business are without electricity supply. The local electricity distribution company (state owned) 'ENERGEX' web site on Saturday afternoon 15th January advised that only 24,555 customers - web Information Updated: 15/01/2011 4:15 pm - are currently affected in the Brisbane and South East Qld area ( ENERGEX's distribution foot print) .
All advice to us at the moment is power generation is all ok and the local state distribution system is supported by interstate power stations if needed, via the national grid connectors, however electricity issues are around the distribution network and its supply related issues (as often happens in flood , storms and other natural disasters )
