The ASU has been asked to join a Standards Australia working committee in the development of a National Australian and NZ standard for Utility Maps data and information. The project is significant for ASU members in many of the professional, parra professional areas and support staff in the Electricity, Local Govt, Water and Railways Industries. Whilst the host industry will be the electricity distribution & transmission industry the Standard will seek to include telecommunications, water and the gas industry’s assets.
ASU national office will act as a conduit for ASU Members and ASU Branches working in this area. After consultation with relevant ASU host industry branches, Greg Mclean will represent the ASU .
ASU branch representatives for electricity, local govt, water and railways will be, kept up to date for, information recirculation and feedback, via ASU state branches, industry committees and sector working groups.
