PSI in solidarity after earthquake

Public Services International sends a message of sympathy and support to our affiliates in Japan after an earthquake hit the north-east of the country on 11 March, triggering a tsunami and causing extensive damage.
At the time of writing, Japan is still feeling the aftershocks. A tsunami warning has been extended to the Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, the Pacific coast of Russia and Hawaii. PSI stands in solidarity with our sisters and brothers in all PSI's affiliates in the region, who will certainly be in the frontline of repairing the damages.  We are in contact with PSI affiliates in the path of the tsunami, and await further updates on the unfolding situation - including how PSI affiliates can best support and assist affected members and communities in the wake of this massive natural disaster. Our thoughts are with our members and their families who may be affected, and commend the brave efforts of our public emergency response members and citizens attending to this crisis.http://www.world-psi.org/TemplateEn.cfm?Template=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=27204
